If you are not injured, follow these steps to get up safely:

  1. Lie on your side
  2. Bend the leg that is on top and lift yourself onto your elbows or hands
  3. Pull yourself toward a sturdy object
  4. Kneel, while placing both hands on the object
  5. Place your stronger leg in front, holding on to the object
  6. Stand up

If you are injured and need help:

  • Press the button on your fall detection device if it hasn't gone off
  • Call 9-1-1
